Alright, let’s talk about this newfangled music. Back in my day, we had music. Real music. You know, the kind with a melody and lyrics that you could actually understand. Nowadays, all these kids listen to is that racket they call “music.” It’s like a bunch of cats fighting in a tin can.
I remember when rock and roll first came out. People said it was the devil’s music. But at least you could understand the words and maybe even catch a beat. This new stuff? It’s just noise.
I swear, I’ve heard more coherent conversations from a roomful of monkeys. And don’t even get me started on these music videos. All flashing lights and half-naked people. It’s enough to make a grown man blush.
But then, the other day, my granddaughter put on some of this new music. I was skeptical, of course. But as I listened, something unexpected happened. I started to feel a rhythm. A groove, if you will. And the lyrics, while a bit strange, were actually kind of catchy.
I still don’t understand half of it, but I have to admit, some of these new artists, like Taylor Swift and Harry Styles, are pretty talented. Maybe this new generation isn’t so bad after all. Though I don’t think I’ll be doing the “Hot to Go Dance” anytime soon.
